International conference “The Early Modern Villa: Senses and Perceptions vs. Materiality”
On behalf of Paweł Jaskanis, the Director of the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów and Professor Barbara Arciszewska from University of Warsaw we are pleased to invite you to the International Conference: “The Early Modern Villa: Senses and Perceptions versus Materiality”.
The Conference will be held under the honorary patronage of Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland prof. Małgorzata Omilanowska, on October 15th–17th 2014, at the Wilanów Palace Orangery, Warszawa, Poland. The Conference language is English.
The focus of the conference will be to show the role of the senses and sensual perception in the planning, design, as well as functioning and reception of the villa (ca. 1450–1800) – set against the essential materiality of architecture and nature. Additional informations on the subject can be found in Call for Papers and the Conference Programme (with a possibility of small alterations).
Participation requires previous registration. Conference is free of charge, with the exception of an optional lunch, which can be purchased at the time of registration. The cost of lunch is 40 euros, for 2 days. Please transfer the fee to the following account:
