After a more than a year-long exchange of letters, e-mails and a series of meetings with representatives of the General Contractor of construction works and representatives of the bankruptcy trustee for the company, detailed arrangements were made in relation to the final financial settlement of the “Renovation and safety works in the Orangery building” task.

On 31 July 2018, the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów withdrew from the contract with the Main Contractor. From the moment of termination of the contract, as well as throughout the entire period of works, the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów was supported by the team of the Supervision Engineer and the team of lawyers working with the Museum, which made it possible to complete the process of final financial settlement with the General Contractor.

In the autumn of 2018, the Museum received the missing elements of the as-built documentation from the General Contractor, as well as reports from archaeological research and reports from the research carried out on the establishment of the DNA profile of samples taken from human remains from burials encountered during earthworks. The General Contractor also submitted the remaining necessary documentation specified in the terms of the contract, which allowed the Museum to legally and formally complete the task in the area of works carried out by the General Contractor.

In the same period, the Supervision Inspector’s team was obliged to make an inventory of the works in progress and the works not performed. On the basis of the inventory, the scope of works to be commissioned to a new contractor obtained through another tender was determined.

The last stage of the task was the issue of an invoice by the General Contractor for the scope of work performed. In this way, another of the tasks carried out within the framework of the “Restoration and protection of the symbol of the Polish cultural heritage – the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów” project was completed.
